aterm software package provides Afterstep XVT - a VT102 emulator for the X window system, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install aterm
aterm is installed in your system.
Make ensure the aterm package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep aterm *
You will get with aterm package name, version, architecture and description in a table
